Questions and answers.
The ones that come up before the first discussion and after the first archive.
Is collAnon free?
Yes. Every account has the same allowance: five discussions a month, one attachment of up to 512 KB per discussion, three saved groups. There is no paid plan.
Do I need an email address?
No. An email is optional and exists only for password recovery. Without one, a lost password cannot be recovered, by design.
Can I keep the names hidden after the end?
No. When the deadline passes the archive attaches names to everything for everyone who took part. If that is not acceptable for your question, do not use collAnon for it.
Can I run a discussion with people who have no account?
They need one to answer, but they create it from your invitation link in seconds. Reading an archive that was exported needs no account.
Can I extend or shorten a discussion?
Yes, the organiser can change the end date and time while it runs.
Can the organiser remove a participant?
Yes, by removing the name from the invitation list; that person loses access, and what they already wrote stays. Nobody can remove themselves.
Can the organiser delete an answer?
No. Nobody can touch another person's answer or comment. You can delete your own answer while it has no comments, and your own comments at any time.
Where is the data hosted?
On a server operated by Arasaka in Italy. Each Sintopia app has its own server and its own user database.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. It is a web app that installs from the browser and keeps working offline for what it has already loaded; posting needs a connection. Sharing an invitation uses the phone's share sheet.
Is there an AI feature?
The app can pre-fill a discussion from a voice or text note when the server has that service enabled. On the public server it is switched off.
Something not answered here?
Write to Arasaka; every message gets a reply.
